Adventure Dog Outings

Are you looking for a furry friend to accompany you on that bucket-list hike? Or are you heading on a breezy car ride with just enough time to stop for a pup cup? Maybe you have spent long hours studying at the library and are desperately needing to decompress with an understanding companion. If you have adventure planned of any variety, we have pups who would love to join you.

Regardless of whether its for a strenuous hike or a chill hangout, one of our dogs wants to join you. The shelter is loud, busy, crowded a hard place for any animal to live indefinitely. If you are hoping to make someone's day a little brighter, consider doing it for one of our shelter dogs. Although it may only be a few hours for you, it allows them a safe space to relax and be their true selves.

Don't worry about a thing; we have got it handled! We provide everything you may need, including tags, a flat leash, harnesses, backpack, doggy doo bags, treats, and bottled water. For the safety of our dogs, we ask that you kindly refrain from using flexi leashes, keep them on their leash unless in a securely fenced area, and avoid interaction with other dogs, cats, or tiny children. Our dogs enjoy participating in activities of all sorts! Some that we suggest are hikes; parks; dog-friendly stores such as PetSmart, Tractor Supply, and Lowes; unleashed romps around your fenced yard at home; or drive-thrus for special treats. Anything simple and fun outside of their kennels will do wonders for our pups, providing them with the enrichment and respite they need. Leave your pets and toddlers at home, and devote a few hours to a special dog who does not currently have a family of their own; you won't be sorry!

Interested in adventures with one of our pups in need? Let's connect. If you would like to sign out a dog for an Adventure Dog Outing, we ask that you contact us by email at FOACinfo@gmail.com at least 24 hours in advance. Our volunteers will assist you in choosing an available dog with current vaccinations. We look forward to partnering with you to help improve our dogs' quality of life while they stay with us!
