Afghan Hound / Great Pyrenees / Mixed : : Male : : Young : : X-Large Learn more about the Afghan Hound. Learn more about the Great Pyrenees.
All the way from FINCASTLE in (Botetourt County?) came this handsome boy, found by someone as he was on the roadside looking quite lost. Sadly he should never have been brought to Campbell County--how will his family ever find him? But he is here, and the appropriate animal control facility has been notified. Now we wait for an owner, and if none appears, we find him a home. He's called LUCKY, and is about six months old, we think. The photos don't do him justice! He has long legs, magnificent personality, and our guesses as to breed mix include Afghan hound (the coat is slightly wiry, however); German Wire Hair pointer (legs are solid with feathers); Great Pyrenees (due to size and double dew claws and webbed feet.) Awesome dog!
The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
For information on adopting this animal who is in care at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility, please call there: 434.821-4416. Hours are from 12 to 5 on weekdays and 11 to 4 on Saturday. Email us at info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
