About Cassie: URGENT!

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Gray
  • Housetrained: Yes
CASSIE is on the long-timers list, and we want to help her find a home. She is young, she is blue, and she is a Bull Terrier mix. Folks pay thousands of dollars for bull terriers, or for blue dogs, but no one has been even remotely interested in CASSIE! Here's what we can tell you about her: she is housetrained! She can hardly wait to get outside to potty when the volunteers arrive! She is outgoing! Everyone is her friend! She seems fine with other dogs! She loves to fetch the ball! She can all but fly! She would be amazing great at agility! And she likes to go back into her kennel run and cool down with a fresh bowl of cold water. Doesn't this ten-month old baby tug at your heartstrings? Our process begins with an application! Find it here: www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org At this time, the application is not compatible with most portable devices. ADOPTION GUIDELINES: For animals in care at the Campbell County Shelter, the Code of Virginia stipulates that unsterilized pets may be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and have the pet spayed/neutered within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. IF YOU LIVE OUTSIDE OUR LOCAL ADOPTION AREA: you may adopt, but the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. For puppies or kittens too young to be spayed/neutered before adoption (under six months of age), you may adopt through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. There is an adoption fee required for this process. We begin with an application. Go to www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. We ask that you have a veterinarian on record who can verify that your other pets were/are well-cared for, spay/neutered, and kept updated on their vaccines. Pets identified as being “fostered” are available for a fee. Fees range from $50 to $300. Fostered pets are not at the Campbell County Shelter and the animal wardens may not be familiar with those pets. Again, we start with an application. Foster parents will contact the applicants about their applications. A meeting would be set up once the application has been received and approved. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242. Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
