We are so excited that we have been able to help Xiva feel like a brand-new girl! She was surrendered to the shelter several months ago, following the death of her human, and she brought with her a myriad of health problems. We were so lucky that a foster mom asked to take her in and see her through treatment for eye infections, ear infections, yeasty bacterial skin problems, and then finally, a spay and mammary tumor removal.  Xiva is social with the other dogs, and feels great! She runs around the yard exercising, then stops to rest in the sun. When you know what a miserable background she must’ve had with all the itchy skin and infections, it just makes us feel so good seeing her so alive right now! We can’t say she’s home free, because there’s always a chance that mammary  tumors will recur. However, right now she’s enjoying life, and we are taking one day at a time. We aren’t sure about her experiences with children but suspect that older kids would be accepted without problem. She is fine with the many other dogs in her foster family’s home, but would be fine as an only dog. She is also used to a doggie door and fenced in yard. Please contact us for more information.
