Black Labrador Retriever / German Shorthaired Pointer / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Baby : : X-Large Learn more about the German Shorthaired Pointer.
I'm Deacon! I"m always on the go, and like to alert, like any well-intentioned pointer would do! Who doesn't love black labs, thought by many to be the most genial and adaptable and lovable breed of dog ever? We know there are many families searching for that perfect pup to add to their homes, and we think we have them! These are Loretta Lynn's babies, and they are soon going to be ready for homes of their own. Their birth mom took excellent care of them, with the able assistance of human foster mom and caregivers. They have been well socialized by a four year old child as well as numerous adults, and their puppy social skills are well-honed as well, thanks to the resident adult dogs in their foster home. We know mom is a black lab who weighed under fifty pounds, but we have to guess at the breed of their daddies, because we are certain more than one breed is involved. Some may be purebred black labs, some appear to be mixed with German Pointer, and there is at least one who appears to be of Great Pyrenees descent. We do predict super-sweet adult dogs on the larger side, although most likely not hundred-pound size. Best guess is seventy to eighty pounds. Successful adopters will have children over the age of five years, have experience with dogs with high-energy or be willing to attend puppy training class, and live in our local adoption area (Campbell County, City of Lynchburg, or a county touching Campbell) or have a stellar vet reference already in place based on your current or deceased pet's vetting records. The fee to adopt is $300.00; appropriate vaccines, spay/neuter, and microchip are included in the fee. The puppies received first vaccinations, and vet exam for the litter is next. We believe in holding puppies until they are nine weeks of age or older, but are doing pre-adoptions at this time. Fill out an application on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org, and go to the Animals tab, where you will find our adoption application.
