Due to her "extreme weight loss," MATTIE has applied to be a mentor for anyone in Hollywood who needs encouragement with weight loss tips and tricks. She has dropped fifteen pounds since coming into our care, and she looks smashing! Her makeover is due to her perseverence and determination to succeed at anything she does, and  she has been the inspiration to many to drop pounds to improve their lives.

MATTIE's current position as an investigator with the Animal Patrol in Campbell County means she thoroughly examines any stuffed toys donated to FOAC that are of questionable composition. An incision is made in the toy, and if it appears there is stuffing inside, she pulls it out to make sure there are no undesirable elements lurking within, MATTIE has made this her mission and is a self-styled investigator. FOAC was not aware of the need for this position until MATTIE herself proposed it.  As of now, she is handling the job on her own, though occasionally she will call on her associates to assist.  It's obvious she enjoys this job and it apparently has saved the lives of many shelter dogs, though it has taken a toll on most of the stuffed animals!

(Mattie is a well-rounded dog who just needs understanding and lots of love. She is loving and loved, housetrained, crate trained, great with other dogs, livestock, but not so much with cats. Her weight-reduction program has helped her lose enough weight that she no longer waddles AND she has a waistline! We are so proud of Mattie!)
