EMILY has had a tough life up to now, but she is now healthy, housetrained, and wants only to be in a home. She has so many admirable qualities, it's hard to know where to begin to describe her! From a quiet waif, too sad to lift her head up to visit with humans, she has been transformed into the regal looking gal you see in these recent photos. In addition to being housetrained and crate trained, she is spayed and is just a living doll when it comes to playing. She has also been treated for heartworm disease--a condition which was entirely preventable had she been given monthly heartworm preventive--but is now heartworm-free and will continue that way as long as her new family provides that medicine monthly. Emily is really great with older kids, most other dogs, and adult humans as well. She can be rough when she takes toys from hands, so we think older kids will be best, since they can more easily respect her needs. She is quite excited about trading toys for treats, and her extreme love of food means she is eager to learn when there is a promise of a goodie to follow. Her eyes are so pretty--another great reason to take her home; she will gaze at you adoringly as only a dog can do!
