Dachshund (short coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Small Learn more about the Dachshund.
Dobby (Adorable name, isn't it?) is a 2 year old mini-dachshund. (I was told he was born in June 2010). His human mom wrote a neat little story about him for us to share: "I rescued him from a friend who said she was going to throw him out the front door. He hadn't been in one home long enough to be house broken, as we were his 5th home by the time he was 7 months old (7 if you count his birth home and the pet shop). He had terrible separation anxiety, and he can still get upset if left in unfamiliar surroundings. He does think he is 80 lbs instead of 8, but he wags his tail while barking. I am convinced it is because he wants to be your friend, but his breed genetics force him to bark! His favorite thing to do is cuddle with you on the couch, and he prefers to be under a blanket while on the couch. He hates to go outside when it's raining, loves to go for car rides, and lives with 3 cats, so he has no problem with them. He is picky about dog food. For the longest he would only eat the refrigerated food, but once we got TJ, he finally started eating the dry.He is great with big dogs and small dogs, and thinks he is the alpha dog. It is actually quite funny. Teege is maybe 50 lbs, yet he defers to Dobby. He is just a great little dog with the sweetest brown eyes and biggest heart."
