Amelia's story is heartwrenching. Her owner of eleven years could no longer care for her and was taken to a nursing home last week. There were no family members--no relatives at all-- to take this loyal friend in to their homes and hearts and give her the comfort she had once given her person. Instead, Amelia was brought to the county facility and dropped there, confused, sad, and desperately missing her person. Imagine your own dog being left at a pound because you could no longer care for her! It is unbearable to even consider. Amelia can be happy again if she can find a loving family to fill the void left in her life. She used to be happy and have s soft, cushy bed to cuddle in. Now she has a Kuranda bed and a blanket, and must share her time with 20 other loud, barking residents of the county pound. She is not given special treats for being cute or for being a good cuddler. . . now she must wait for a volunteer to come once or twice a day if she wants to go outside in the grass to potty or do her business. This once-happy senior has much to offer the right family. Can you be her companion? You know she deserves it! Please, give this senior a home before it is too late!
