About Jose

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black
Jose is a cute little stray chihuahua brought in on Tuesday. He has been running the neighborhood for several days, according to notes from FB followers. He is great with other dogs! UPDATE 10/1: We spent more time Sunday with little stray JOSE, an intact male chihuahua who is desperately in need of some TLC. His entire personality changes when a leash or collar is put around his neck, so we opted to try cuddling him sans the collar. Can you see how relaxed he became once that was off? There are several possibilities for his reaction to the collar: maybe he had been dragged around by a leash and collar earlier; maybe he has never had one on before this; or maybe his neck is injured and it physically hurts to wear a collar. We are scheduling a vet appointment for neuter for the boy and then he will be headed to a foster home for "decompression" time and some behavior modification. He is only about 8 months old, and loves to burrow. For information on adopting this animal who is in care at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility, please call there: 434.821-4416.
