Beagle : : Male : : Adult : : Medium
New stray to the Campbell County Animal Control facility is TRIPOLI, a sweet little male beagle with tri colored "ticking" on one shoulder. He is very sweet and friendly and is smaller in person than he appears in his picture. He is about 4-6 years old and is quite the gentleman while walking on a leash too. He was due to go to rescue on 10/13, but unfortunately tested hw positive so he will be with us awhile longer unless he finds a family.
UPDATE 11/14/13: TRIPOLI is home after spending two days at the vet for his first HW treatment. He found the sofa immediately and made himself right at home, once he got back. TRIPOLI will need to remain physically quiet and calm for the next month, while the heartworms die off and are re-absorbed by his body. His life could be endangered if he runs or gets too excited! In one month, he can have his second treatment, and he then must remain on HW preventive for the rest of his life. Heartworms are nothing to play around with!
This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. You can find this on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by TEXTING one of our volunteers at her personal cell phone, 434.851-2598.
