Gabriel, aka Gabe, is truly an angel--messenger in fact--of how love of a dog can overcome adversities the dog has lived through. GABE is a shining example as well of the miraculous changes in a dog that come about when the dog can be in a foster home for security and love while he waits for his forever home. Gabe's forever home seems to be a long time in the making, and we thank his wonderful foster mom and dad for allowing him to stay with them while it happens. Do you remember Gabe's history? This is the dog who came to CCAC with an ingrown collar. It was one of the worst the vet had seen, and they have had lots of experience with such incidents in their work with the animal control folks over the years. Gabe was taken from a home where it had to be obvious he was in pain; yet no one seemed to care until a neighbor called to report it to animal control. That call saved Gabe's life! The collar was so close to his windpipe and jugular, he could easily have died. Instead, he was taken in by FOAC, sponsored by generous donors from the community, and then adopted. His happy ending was short lived and he came back to our care. Back with his original foster mom, he lives with canine and human brothers and sisters, and is happy, happy, happy. We love taking Gabe to adoption meet and greets, because of his unique looks and happy personality. Weight: 50 pounds Age: 4 years Personality: great with kids of all ages, cats, and dogs. Housetrained, loves to be loved! Breed mix; Bernese Mt. Dog mix/ Australian shepherd. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. You can find this on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
