About Annie

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Brown Tabby
  • Housetrained: Yes
Havana is a special needs kitten. She has an autoimmune problem called Keratitia Sicca, which causes extreme dry eyes (they don't make any tears) She is blind in one eye and will probably eventually also lose the second eye. She requires Cyclosporine drops in both eyes twice daily to keep them as moist as possible. This will be a lifelong problem. She is an active, playful 6 month old kitten, totally capable of keeping up with her foster siblings. She is sweet and loving, and a real snuggler at night. She is up to date on all vacs, including rabies, and tested Felv/FIV negative. UPDATE: All these months I was thinking that ANNIE cat was blind, and I've been amazed she gets along so well. Today I learned she has vision and she can run, leap and jump like the other cats in her foster home! She puts on a good show when you give her a chance to warm up to you and be social! ANNIE is about a year old, and lives with two other sweeties! She is slight of build, but full of personality! Her eye problem is incurable; it is called "keratitis sicca," aka "dry eye." The drops she needs to be comfortable cost about $30/month. Eventually, she may need her eyes removed but for now she is doing fine! TLC and lots of other friends to keep her stimulated are all she needs for the moment! We'd love to see her adopted by someone very loving and very caring. Is it you? This cat is in a foster home and is already spayed/neutered. To adopt, please email us at info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or leave a voice mail for one of our volunteers at 434.485.6242.
