About Alissa

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Tricolor (Tan/Brown & Black & White)
Alissa came to the care of the Campbell County Animal Control folks when her person signed her over. She was really happy to find a foster home just a few days after arriving at the facility, because she needed more quiet time than she could get around all the excited dogs there. In foster, she is a very sweet girl who loves other dogs as well as people. Playtime for her is something new and wonderful, and she is enjoying the opportunity to have fun with toys, bones, and just hanging out in the yard. Alissa limps and sometimes holds her leg up when she walks, but we've not yet determined the cause of this--all we see is a super nice dog who needs a home! UPDATE from foster mom: ALISSA is a 1-2 year old hound. She is a very quiet, sweet, gentle natured dog, very shy, but gradually coming out of her shell. She gets along well with her foster siblings, does great with kids, walks well on a leash. She is up to date on all vacs, including rabies, tested HW negative (currently on HW preventative) and has been spayed. She is a real joy to have around. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. You can find this on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242.
