About Skeeter

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black
5/23/14 Transferred to LHS! Meet Skeeter! He has been through a tough time but luckily he wandered up to the right family who immediately called for help for him. Can you see how the right side of his lips have been sheared away? And his right ear is ripped in half? We can only imagine the cause of this injury. Because it is healing, we would guess at least a week has passed since it happened. He is about five years old, weighs 18 pounds and his tail has been removed at the base. His personality is amazingly wonderful even after this very sad episode in his life. He loves everyone and is even ok with other dogs as long as they don't get too close to his face. We will make sure he gets seen by a vet and will do everything we can to get him fixed up. The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this. For information on adopting this animal who is in care at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility, please call there: 434.821-4416. Hours are from 12 to 5 on weekdays and 11 to 4 on Saturday.
