BROOTS, four-week resident of the CCAC facility, is so sad that he has not found a home yet! Sometimes you just don't get it--why is such a handsome boy not yet adopted? Beagle/lab mix, he adores car rides, playing with kids, and again, a dog who is super good with other dogs. During a fireworks show, one of our volunteers took him home for the night so he wouldn't be scared and she said he is the perfect dog. Perfectly housetrained, good with her two dogs, rode great in the car and slept quietly all night. His only flaw is he still likes to pull on a leash but that is easy to fix. That is why we want so badly to get him out of the facility--he is a dog who can go to a dog park, and be all "oh, hi! I'm Broots! Wanna play?" You know, your dream dog!? FOAC will even sponsor his neuter if you are approved to adopt!!
UPDATE: BROOTS heard it is beach week and wanted to be included, so popped on his own pair of sunglasses today and joined the club of longtimers who want to be noticed. He is so ready to be in a home! FOAC will sponsor the cost of his neuter for an approved adopter! That's right, he can be neutered at no cost to you, if you decide he is the perfect match! BROOTS is a forty pound four year old beagle/lab mix who adores going out for ice cream or burgers, like any other kid.
The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
