Precious BUCKY!!. UPDATE from foster mom: "Bucky's coat is so soft since his groom. He hated thunderstorms the first weekend he was first with us but the more recent ones haven't bothered him. Maybe he learned from the other dogs who ignore them? He still runs in the yard and engages in play with our shih tzu. His knees give him an awkward gait but he can still do most things. I lift him in and out of the van - he loves to go for a ride. He has to squat to pee and his back paws sometimes drag when walking but it doesn't hinder him any." (Can you tell that Joy, the foster, adores this little man? She says he is the BEST dog she has ever fostered! He is so easy--he gets along with everyone, and that is really something! Cats, kids, dogs, chickens--yes, chickens, too!!) UPDATE 7/30/14: BUCKY received a full evaluation yesterday to try to determine the source of his strange gait. Thanks to Drs. Hudson and Hubbard, Rustburg Veterinary Clinic, for their time in working with this little sweetie! Bucky appears to have had neurological as well as physical distress, but is not in pain and not unhappy. He is seven years old, housetrained and absolutely adores everyone!! This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. You can find this on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242.
