FOAC took in a sweetheart! Her name is Tinkerbelle, and she is a thirteen-year-old Shih Tzu! She is rough, no two ways about it. But that won't be for long! She's already seen a vet and has started THREE different antibiotics, one for skin, one for ears, and one for eyes. Her poor little face, infected from her skin problems (yeast infection), was shaved down so the vet could get a better look at her eyes. (Did you know that dogs with bangs often have trauma to their eyeballs from their coats irritating their eyes? Even though you think it's cute, it must be painful to be a cute dog with a long coat.) She soon will be getting an extreme makeover. TINKERBELLE is spayed, housetrained, and has limited vision, but she gets around just fine, thank you very much! The dogs at this multi-dog foster home have accepted her presence as if she was just another clump of dog fuzz rolling around the floor, and while she doesn't see perfectly, she managed to find her way around the fenced yard and back to the dogs who were headed inside the house. Because we don't want her to be startled by yet another new beginning, we are already preparing her to be picked up by saying the single word, "UP!" and she literally bounces up into our hands. Smart little gal! She is an adorable little thing who will soon be needing a forever lap to call her own! This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
