About JJ

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Fawn
JJ has been through a rough incident. She was shot in the back. The moment we realized she was injured, she was rushed to the vet for emergency surgery. She is recuperating in a wonderful foster home and through all this, she has been very loving and sweet and gentle. She is a tough cookie who wants to heal quickly so she can be adopted into a loving home where she will feel protected for the rest of her life. She is about 2 years old and weighs 65 pounds. She appears to be a lab/shepherd/boxer mix. Just an all around great dog. UPDATE 8/27/14: I have very few dogs that are as loyal and loving as she is. She is very sentimental and always keeping watch over her foster family. She is the most affectionate and loving girl that I have ever met. Although she tends to be shy when it comes to loud sounds, raised voices, and gunshots....pretty sure she gets that honest with being shot in the back. This dog is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. You can find this on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242. APPLICATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO ADOPT. Go to www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
