Sunday was a busy day at animal control! New stray is TRIXIE, according to the tags on her collar dating back to 2009. She appears to be a shepherd mix (maybe with husky? Her eyes haunt me!) and of course, is a very sweet senior. Matted and pretty dirty, but Miss TRIXIE is not going to let that get her down. She allowed brushing and some spot-bathing when she came in and we hope to do more today. Her tags indicate she is from New York State, and she was found in Rustburg. A wonderful dog and available for adoption soon if not reclaimed. The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
