9/10/14: Transferred to LHS! VETTING IS SPONSORED!!!! Danny Boy came in as a stray and looks to be a Shar Pei mix. He is gentle and very friendly. He walks great on a leash and is friendly to all who meet him from volunteers to other dogs. His tail is so cool because it's darker than the rest of him and has a white tip. Plus, it wags constantly. He appears to be fine with cats too. Please come to the shelter to meet him. UPDATE 9/5/14: Danny Boy is urgent--he is the long-timer and he needs to get out! Still a puppy, with love for kids, other dogs, and was accepting of cats when we tested him. He's also been working on his housetraining skills. His vetting has been sponsored by one of his biggest fans! The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
