About Ellie Mae

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Cat
  • General Color: Tortoiseshell
  • Housetrained: Yes
Hi, I'm Ellie Mae! I came to the pound scared to death. One of the teen volunteers was sure she could teach me there was nothing to be afraid of. Her mom let her bring me home over the long weekend to socialize me. It worked! I traded my hisses for purring. I love to be held and scratched and I love laying on her bed while she does her homework. I am about 9 weeks old. This family has lots of foster animals so they can't keep me because they need to save room for the next scaredy cat that needs loving. They want to make sure I will be ok though, so they will sponsor my spay when I'm adopted. They have even taught me how to walk on a leash! This cat is in a foster home and not at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility. We always begin with an application to adopt, and this will be forwarded to the foster family for review. You can find this on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242. Applications are required to adopt. Go to www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org The policy for adoption requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County, if the cat has not yet been sterilized. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the cat must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this. Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
