10/2014 transferred to rescue. Newly signed over to the CCAC facility is CLARISE. She appears to be a border collie/beagle mix with a gorgeous chocoloatey-colored coat. We were told she is husky, but we're not seeing it in her coat, her stature, nor her behavior. She is 9 to 10 months old, healthy, not so excited about being walked on a leash, and seems happy to meet everyone who stops by. Very pretty, and about 50 pounds, great with kids, babies, other dogs, seems okay with cats. She is considered URGENT, as are all dogs who are signed over by their families. The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this. Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
