LUNA, came from near the Dollar General Store in Brookneal in the wee morning hours on Sunday. LUNA struggles to stand up due to what appears to be an injury to his left rear leg, which is swollen and hot. He is sweet, a chunky monkey of perhaps 70 pounds who is more like a pint-sized lab. He has been taken to the vet for evaluation on his injury. The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
