Sleek, friendly, and healthy-- Chestnut is one of those dogs you can't easily forget once you meet, because of her outstanding, happy personality. Someone forgot to tell Chestnut that she is a stray and needs a home, because she seems happy, happy, happy all the time! She is 2-3 years old and is great with other dogs and fine with cats too. She knows how to sit, stay and shake. She is so wonderful that she even has a sponsor who will pay for her spay once there is a commitment for an adoption. Please come meet this wonderful dog today! The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this. For information on adopting this animal who is in care at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility, please call there: 434.821-4416. Hours are from 12 to 5 on weekdays and 11 to 4 on Saturday. Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
