November 2014 transferred to LHS. Meet Johnny who was named by the folks who found him while they were en route to the CCAC facility. He is soft like an indoor dog, collie or Brittany spaniel type of coat, and about 4-5 years old. He weighs 45 pounds. He was on the shoulder of 460, and the folks were sure he was in danger. The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this. For information on adopting this animal who is in care at the Campbell County Animal Control Facility, please call there: 434.821-4416. Hours are from 12 to 5 on weekdays and 11 to 4 on Saturday. Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
