Pit Bull Terrier / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Large
Rudie loves to play with toys. He has really come out of his shell and walks fairly well now on a leash. He has really come a long way from a dog who was cooped up in a small dog lot with no interaction at all except with his brother, Avery. He is good with other dogs too. He is on the smaller size so would fit into any home. He is so wonderful, that one of our volunteers sponsored his neuter, so he is ready to go! His foster family has found out what a snuggler he is and loves to sleep in bed with them.
ADOPTION GUIDELINES:
Virginia’s Code requires that any unsterilized pets adopted from the Campbell County Animal Shelter may be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and have the pet spayed/neutered within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home.
Puppies or kittens in care at the shelter too young to be spayed/neutered before adoption may often be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. There is an adoption fee required for this process. We ask that you have a veterinarian on record who can verify that your other pets were well-cared for.
Pets identified as being “fostered” are available for a fee. Fees range from $50 to $300. Fostered pets are not at the Campbell County Shelter and the animal wardens may not be familiar with those pets.
An Adoption Application, available at the Campbell County Shelter, or online at our website www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org, is required prior to adoption. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242.

Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
