About DANTE

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Black
  • Housetrained: Yes
DANTE, a two year old border collie mix who weighs about 65 pounds, headed back to his foster home this week following his neuter. DANTE is a great dog who is comfortable with livestock, is a gentleman around humans and in the house, and knows some pretty cool tricks! Speak, sit, down, shake, other paw, on and on. He is not only great with cats, dogs, and children, he is also wonderful with the livestock (horses, pigs, chickens) and wildlife running around outside as well. He follows his foster mom everywhere, is attentive to her instructions, and enjoys sharing the bed with the other family pets. Well rounded, not high-energy or driven to perform like many working breeds. DANTE is 65 pounds, two years old, housetrained, and super with any animal he's exposed to, from cats to wildlife to horses to chickens. He is content hanging out, and doesn't feel the push to perform. He follows his foster mom everywhere she goes and has made himself very comfortable in a farm-type setting. Available for visits only through appointment after an application is completed! Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242. APPLICATIONS ARE REQUIRED TO ADOPT. Go to www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org The policy for adopting an unsterilized pet requires that you live in Campbell County, Lynchburg City, or a county touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and spay/neuter the pet yourself within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Kittens or puppies too young for spay/neuter may be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. We will be happy to help you make arrangements to do this.
