About Shivers:fostered

  • Status: Adopted!
  • Species: Dog
  • General Color: Merle
  • Housetrained: Yes
2/24/15 Transferred to rescue in New Jersey! SHIVERS was rescued by our foster mom Christine when the shelter was overcrowded and we needed to save dogs' lives. He has been neutered, is crate trained, and -- knock on wood here-- appears to be housetrained. Really, for a dog to make this transition from dog outside only to dog spoiled rotten and allowed to be on furniture, this is amazing progress! He is a a happy-go-lucky Australian Cattle Dog mix who prefers a home without cats. ADOPTION GUIDELINES: Virginia’s Code requires that any unsterilized pets adopted from the Campbell County Animal Shelter may be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and have the pet spayed/neutered within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home. Puppies or kittens in care at the shelter too young to be spayed/neutered before adoption may often be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. There is an adoption fee required for this process. We ask that you have a veterinarian on record who can verify that your other pets were well-cared for. Pets identified as being “fostered” are available for a fee. Fees range from $50 to $300. Fostered pets are not at the Campbell County Shelter and the animal wardens may not be familiar with those pets. An Adoption Application, available at the Campbell County Shelter, or online at our website www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org, is required prior to adoption. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242.
