Pomeranian / Chihuahua / Mixed : : Male : : Baby : : Small Learn more about the Pomeranian. Learn more about the Chihuahua.
Wilbur and his siblings have been in a foster home since they were delivered to the shelter at ten days of age, when their (unknown breed) mother passed away of unknown causes. WILBUR looks like a tiny little border collie, with his black and white markings! WILBUR is two-plus some pounds, and a favorite of many. At five weeks, he is the typical size for an adult dog who will top out at 20 to 25 pounds, so we are guessing that he, and his littermates, may be a pomeranian mix. However, we won't guarantee anything along those lines. The puppies will be available at the age of nine weeks, and only to local adopters, or families who have awesome vet references already in place. Sorry, we will not consider first time adopters out of our area who do not already have vet references.
ADOPTION GUIDELINES:
Virginia’s Code requires that any unsterilized pets adopted from the Campbell County Animal Shelter may be adopted only to residents of Campbell County, the City of Lynchburg, or counties touching Campbell County. If you are a resident of one of these areas, you may adopt directly from the facility and have the pet spayed/neutered within 30 days, or by the time the pet is six months of age. If you live outside this area, the pet must be spayed or neutered before you can take it home.
Puppies or kittens in care at the shelter too young to be spayed/neutered before adoption may often be adopted through Friends of Campbell County Animal Control. There is an adoption fee required for this process. We ask that you have a veterinarian on record who can verify that your other pets were well-cared for.
Pets identified as being “fostered” are available for a fee. Fees range from $50 to $300. Fostered pets are not at the Campbell County Shelter and the animal wardens may not be familiar with those pets.
An Adoption Application, available at the Campbell County Shelter, or online at our website www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org, is required prior to adoption. Specific questions are most easily answered by email, info@friendsofcampbellcounty.org, or by leaving a voicemail for one of our volunteers at 434-485-6242.

Our process begins with an application, found on our website, www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org. Once your application has been received, a volunteer will call the references you list and then will contact you.
