Terrier / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Small
Remember our first post about these three terriers? After the loss of a family member left them homeless, they were brought to the shelter. We had no idea what sex they were or their ages or breeds! The good news is, we have made friends with them, discovered they are about 18 months old, and have discovered they are all males! Thanks to Bry with Sit Pretty Grooming LLC for offering to take the three in and freshen them up this week, so they could more readily fostered! Turns out once they got on the grooming table, they were pretty easy clients, according to their groomers who worked extra hard to get them Reggie (formerly Scarecrow) has a longer nose, and could be a dachshund mix. Reggie is in a foster home with several female dogs, and he is in doggy heaven! They all adore having a male running around among them, and since he is the only boy, he gets all the attention from his “harem.” Reggie, too, is peeing on everything, and definitely will need training and a belly band until he figures out that marking is not necessary. He seeks out human attention, and is probably the most needy of the three of them. We are hoping to have these guys sterilized in the next couple weeks so they will be ready to be adopted. In the meantime, their foster moms are working hard to teach them house manners, and routines. We will not be placing them in the same home, but feel they will do well with other nice dogs, and cats as well. we have not tested them with children yet. three fuzzy little dogs came in to the shelter on Friday. We are getting to know them, and look forward to making friends, and introducing you to their needs and personalities. They are still chilling out and are not yet ready for handling. Their story: their owner passed away, and family members had no information or details on their sexes, names or ages. We are guessing they are terrier mixes, weighing between 10 and 16 pounds. Right now, they are finding comfort in being together, and we like to help dogs that are stressed at the shelter stay together in a family group initially. Canned food was welcomed last night, and we will offer yummy treats today. PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA.
