When beautiful Cherryl was signed over to the shelter by her caregiver, we were told she was eight years old and had already had eight litters of puppies! We will never know because the person who cared for her said she had rescued her from a neighbor who had allowed her to become pregnant over and over. She is still not spayed so we are really glad she is with us and we can get going on her medical care as quickly as possible. She is extremely shy, and does tend to cringe a little when someone reaches for her. However, we feel if we can get her out of the shelter, she would really be better off. It is always good to get to know the dogs, do the initial vaccines, and get them comfortable with lots of people before adoption. Due to age and lack of any formal vet care, a spay is of utmost urgency for this girl. We have provided initial exams, and the in-house heartworm test was negative. Follow her progress as we help Cherryl become confident and happy!
