Hound / Mixed (short coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Large
Uri enjoyed his weeklong Adventure Dog Outing, but was also glad to be back at the shelter to visit all of his friends again. He is such a laid-back, easy-going dog, but even better, he is adaptable. From being a hunting dog to being found by A. not so understanding, family, to be in a shelter dog, he has made a wonderful adjustment to all new situations. This easygoing gentleman has the classic hound personality—laid-back, affectionate, and gentle. He’s good with livestock, chickens, and even cats, making him a wonderful companion for a family with a variety of animals. Uri loves car rides and is learning how to play and socialize nicely with other dogs. He also does well with children, showing patience and a sweet, kind nature. Volunteers describe Uri as a “dream dog”—responsive, funny, and a true people-lover. He was even chosen to help demonstrate safe handling and leash walking during volunteer orientation because of how calm and easygoing he is. Uri likely spent much of his life on a tie-out, but he’s embracing the joy of being free, loved, and part of a family. If you’re looking for a gentle, loyal companion who just needs a chance, Uri could be your perfect match.
