Update: nugget has received a complete shave down, and is recovering. He likes his new clothes, and he is appreciative of being able to move comfortably. We are not rushing into a placement because Nugget needs complete vetting before he is adopted, and we want to give him plenty of time to show his true personality.

Nugget is a ball of fluff, but unfortunately, the fluff is thick uncomfortable mats and tangles that are pulling and unpleasant for little Nugget. Our best guess is that he was probably deliberately abandoned and allowed to run free as it was easier to do that than regularly groom him as he needed so badly. in his foster home where he is being held until grooming and vet care can be done, he is playing well with the other dogs, but really enjoys being outdoors. We think he was probably an outdoor dog, and to that extent we think a fenced in yard would be ideal for him so he will have that opportunity if he wants. He does great with the other dogs in the household, and I believe we are considering that he is house trained. We may need to do a little more research on that before we can say for sure, however. He is a cuddly, snuggly, handsome boy who loves humans.
