Annie Oakley was brought to tve shelter with five siblings, all much larger than her. She showed signs of distress when she played with them, as she could not run as easily, nor hold her own against them as they roughhoused. Annie was evaluated quickly at a vet office, and was separated from her littermates once we determined that she was needing intervention. blood work was the first order of business, and we were shocked to discover she has tested positive for a tickborne disease at the tender age of nine weeks. because she struggles to run, exhibiting “bunny-hopping” like we see in dogs with hip dysplasia, the next order of business is going to be x-rays of her rear end to try to determine what might be going on. until further assessment has been made she will not be available for adoption.
