Domestic Short Hair (short coat) : : Female : : Baby : : Medium
These photos of Hemi “Engine” are from the day this 8-week old baby was seen at Urgent Care for X-Rays on her right front leg. Hemi was rescued from the engine compartment of a car. She will need to have her leg amputated but the doc wanted the infection to clear up a bit before attempting the surgery, and we also wanted to pump her up and get her stronger. She is a little fighter, and we hope she will recover fully. It’s not easy making a decision to amputate, but with a mangled leg, it is amputate or euthanize to end her suffering. We opted to try. We can’t save the life of every badly injured or critically ill puppy or kitten, but we sure want to help this one—she won the heart of a foster mom who is willing to rehab her as she heals, and oversee her care.
