UPDATE 6/4: BLUE, 2 years old, was adopted but returned after a couple weeks. No matter how hard we try, sometimes adopters have to figure things out for themselves, as was the case for this adoption. We are happy to announce that Blue has now been neutered, and celebrated yesterday by getting to play in the playyard, without his protective blue donut/cone, which kept him from licking his incision. Blue loves to play fetch with a tennis ball, pounces on it, as if it was a live toy and not just a ball, loves to pick it up and charge at his handler, and then avoid totally when he gets to you. He has a playful puppy, even at two years old, and we love him! He is housetrained, and does not want to mess in his kennel run, so will take off the minute he gets on a leash in order to potty. He would totally adore having a fenced area, kids, brave enough to tolerate an active Labrador, retriever mix, and adults in the household who appreciate his activity and devotion. Does he sound like he might work for you? Start with an application, please! He has been tested for heartworms, tick disease, and is current with all vaccines. He is housetrained, and fine with other dogs.  He does have high prey drive, like most excitable young dogs, and he would love nothing more than to give chase to deer, squirrels, rabbits, and most likely cats. For that reason, a fenced yard would be an extremely kind thing to have around, if you think you want to adopt him. Or, be the kind of adopter we really appreciate and take him for family dog training classes at one of our many local training facilities. He would absolutely LOVE any positive reinforcement classes, and would respond easily.
