Update: This little princess had been adopted and for several months was living the good life with her new people. However, a sudden emergency involving health issues in the family meant she needed to come back to our care. She has had many changes in her short life already, and we are sad for her, so we want to make sure the next family is going to be forever. And here’s what her foster mom has to say about her now: “Coco is a sweet little girl who is great with dogs and a little scared of cats. She chased a cat who turned and spit and slapped (with no claws extended) at her and now she won’t look at him when he walks past her.  She loves to run and dances on her hind feet when there’s food involved, but is not hyper.  She loves to cuddle up tight against you when you’re sitting on the couch or lying in bed. She loves to give kisses (your ear is a favorite) but will settle for a quick swipe of her tongue on your arm to show you she loves you.  This little dog is probably one of the most intuitive little creatures I’ve ever seen…she wants so badly to please! Anyone who gets to keep her should consider themselves lucky!” if you were wondering about her name, when she came to us originally last spring, her name is Connie. Her adoptive family in the summer renamed her Coco. So now we call her, Coco Connie, as she responds to both. Her size has been changed to medium, although she is still small, she isn't tiny. A Corgi is a 40+ lb dog...full body on short legs. Coco is a compact version.

Connie COCO, has the sweetest personality! We were told she is a corgi chihuahua mix. Her origins from the Virgin Islands meant that we had no health background on her, other than that she is heartworm positive. She has a story to share, but we don't know all of it.  We were told she came from a family with children, and she is gentle with the cats and other dogs in her foster home, so we feel that toddlers older than four would most likely be fine. She is housetrained and a snugglebug. She is crate trained, but not her most favorite place to be and really not needed. We feel as though she would benefit  a fenced yard to romp and potty. We are treating her heartworms using the "slow-kill' method. It is easier on her system and it doesn't hinder her activity. If you choose to adopt, the treatment will follow with her. Please apply to adopt or meet our sweet Connie Coco.
