Hound (medium coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Medium
Back in February, this good-looking hunk was one of several hounds in our shelter that needed a home. We named him “Alexander,” had him vetted and chipped, and were thrilled when he was invited to travel to Winchester SPCA. Alexander is 2 1/2 years old, and even back in February as a stray with unknown background, we felt he was one of the most playful, most socially adept dogs we had had at the shelter in quite some time. He knew how to get along with other dogs, knew appropriate communication skills, and loved playing with toys. We just knew he would find a fabulous home when he got to Winchester. Fast forward to last week, and we were shocked to find that he had been placed in a couple different homes in the Winchester area, but was not working out with them. We were happy to have him come back to us, as that is part of the agreement we make with other shelters. it seems that Alexander has some vision loss, and it’s not comfortable around small children because he can’t see them well. Read are anxious to continue assessing and attempt to place him locally with an appropriate home, one that includes adults only, physically fenced yard, and another dog or two. You see he is awesome with other dogs, and is even nervous and afraid of cats, so we think he could successfully live with cats as well. Will you help us find just the right home for him? Alexander is a healthy good looking 55 pounder, and is anxious to be settled again. Start with an application found here: www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
