This pretty girl came to the shelter with an injured front leg that was healing, but healing badly. Although we nicknamed her “Gimpy,” she deserves a beautiful name more in keeping with her glorious personality so she is now Nutmeg. She was treated to a leg amputation at the same time as her spay, and is now in an experienced foster home for recovery. Her foster mom tells us she is settling in nicely. Nutmeg was already covering and digging in her litterbox with one paw, so the loss of her leg is no huge adjustment for her, and does not seem to affect her balance or her speed.
