This is PIRATE, brought to the shelter ten days ago with a nasty wound on his neck that required immediate medical attention. This is a tough time to get veterinary appointments, and we appreciate it that our friends at Altavista Animal Hospital asked us to bring him in immediately so they could take a look at it. Surgery was performed on Monday a week ago, and he was released to our care a few days later. Yesterday he was taken back for stitch removal and a rabies shot, and now he is ready to be adopted. We were glad to have him neutered at the same time his abscessed neck was stitched up, and he was also tested for FLVFIV at the same time. The folks at the Animal Hospital love him, and said he is very social and friendly. We can tell that from his school pictures! Want to take home this handsome two year old?
