“Priscilla Presley,” a 3-month old beagle-hound puppy, was found critically ill at the transfer site on Red House Road on Saturday night at 8:30. Her breathing was raspy and tough, and she was emaciated and dehydrated. By 9:30 she was at the animal emergency and critical care of Lynchburg for treatment. Thanks to our animal control officer for rushing her there to save her life! After spending the night at AECC, she was stable and ready to head to a foster home for recovery. Her emergency treatment came to $520— this little gal is still receiving special treatment, via frequent small meals daily of cooked chicken, lean ground beef, rice, and baby food. She is not out of the woods until we guarantee she is no longer vomiting or has diarrhea. She is in good hands with a Foster Mom and canine aunties caring for her. Please follow her story as she recovers, and will soon be available for adoption.
