Black Labrador Retriever / Mixed (medium coat) : : Male : : Adult : : Large
UPDATE: Two volunteers spent time with Max yesterday, reassuring him that he was going to be okay. He was able to go outside and potty, and enjoyed extra attention. When he did return to his kennel run, we were able to teach him how to walk in and out of the guillotine door, and he managed the step beautifully. A foster family came forward as well, and last night went to a foster home. Although it was another transition for him, he worked through it, met the two resident dogs, and slept a good part of tbe night. Max, you are on your way to a better life!
*************
Blind Max sat in the middle of his shelter kennel run last night, after being signed over to the shelter. For the last four years, Max has been an outdoor dog lot, and that is all he knew. Yesterday he was literally dragged into the shelter on his leash. We weren’t there at the time, so don’t know if there was a strong connection between Max and his human—but under the circumstances, we guess there probably was not. Max is probably better off in the shelter where he can be vaccinated, socialized, trained, and neutered. We also think Max would love a seeing-eye companion! If you can offer love and comfort and a wonderful home to Max, please start with an application from our website and we would love to contact you. www.friendsofcampbellcounty.org.
