Beautiful RAVEN has been in our care for several months now, and we are truly enjoying getting to know her better! Although we didn't realize it at the time we took her in, she is more of a senior than we originally thought. Her coat was dry and without shine or luster, but all that has changed after three months of top-of-the-line kibble, and treatment for her heartworms. Yes, she arrived at the shelter with a tough case of heartworms, and her foster mom was willing to see her through that treatmnet! She had one month of doxycycline, and then injections of immiticide thirty days apart, to complete the treatment process. It's not easy recovering, as dogs are supposed to be on restricted activity for several months following the treatment, and that is tough when you are a gorgeous young retriever mix! Raven lives with a foster canine sibling, and is doing well avoiding too much racing in the yard. She enjoys light play sessions with her foster mom, long walks, and is housetrained and crate trained. We needed to wait six months past her heartworm treatment to have her spayed, so we have limited her adoption to folks in the Campbell County area, or to counties bordering Campbell, until that can be done.
