Madison LOVES women, and will be happiest if her new home has only women in the house. Her foster family have cared for her for several weeks following her return to their care after an adoption of five months, where she did live with two adult males and a woman. Madison never warmed up to the males in all that time, and is still not receptive to her foster dad. She comes to life when she gets to hang out with other dogs, but also appreciates female humans. Best guess is that she is a herding dog mix, based on her size and appearance, but she has not attempted herding behavior. She is PERFECT with cats, and accepts them as “furniture,” not as threats to her well-being. Madison is housetrained and crate trained. She plays with all the dogs and has excellent social skills with all. She takes treats gently, and really enjoys hotdogs for something out of the ordinary. She MUST have another dog in the home as her companion, and a stay-at-home mom would be icing on the cake. She is a perfect size for someone looking for an active, but not too large dog, and while she might be fine without a yard as long as she had intense exercise sessions, we really think a yard would be ideal for her. She uses a doggie door to go in and out of the house into a fenced in yard, and a home who can offer the same setup is preferred. No invisible fences, please. To adopt her, please begin with an application found on our website. The two of you can have years of fun ahead!

PLEASE NOTE: This pet has been posted by Friends of Campbell County Animal Control, Rustburg, VA. For questions about the pet, please email us at FOACinfo@gmail.com. All adoptions begin with an application, found under the "Animals" tab on our website, friendsofcampbellcounty.org. *We do not promote dog adoptions to homes where an invisible fence is the fencing of choice. *We do not permit cats or kittens to be declawed following adoption.
