Berta has had some major changes in her life in the past two weeks. When she arrived at the shelter, she had been injured and we waited until her five days of straight time was up before we took her to a vet to discover that she had a long time dislocated hip which needed to be fixed. She was young enough that the vet felt it was ideal to do this immediately. Her surgery, FHO surgery, was done on Monday, and we are happy to report that she is already putting weight on that leg, and getting around beautifully in her foster home. Berta is great with other dogs but of course needs healing time before she plays and carouses with them. She is eager to please but it’s such a goof, she still needs to learn exactly how to do that.
