We’re pretty sure we can identify the breed of handsome Luke! Luke is six years old, and has apparently had skin issues forever, according to his coat pattern. One of our volunteers/animal control officers is familiar with skin diseases that Alaskan malamutes sometimes have. The skin condition plus his giant size, 110 pounds, definitely leads us to believe he is a malamute. Because of the sudden increase in intake numbers, we have not had a chance to deal with anything other than day-to-day necessities at the shelter, so for now we have been deworming and giving this boy the best food we have available. We can’t wait to see his coat improving and find out more about him! He’s good with other dogs, and we do hear him talking to the moon on occasion! He told us he would love to have a soft couch to lay on, and someone to be his best friend on these cold nights! If you love big chunky dogs, this is one you might love to take home!
