UPDATE: Rosalie loves being part of the family-pack in her foster home. It's pretty quiet there, since her foster mom is a teacher and things are peaceful by day. She is living with other cats and a wonderful cat-savvy dog. Rosalie doesn't love the other animals but accepts and tolerates them. She "sleeps in the closet and on the bed," according to her foster mom. She was the lucky gal to have a dentistry, and is updated with an exam and vaccines. She is ready to head to her forever home. - - - “My name is Rosalee. When I visited the vet, I was growling when they tried to listen to my heart and lungs so they weren’t able to do a very good job. They referred to me as a “grumpy old woman.” The people at the shelter had mixed feelings about my actions, and I am really glad that two or three of them held out to try to help me find my way out of the shelter and into a foster home. You see I hated being in a cage. I let them know all about it every time they came here! A cat should not be shut up in a 24 x 24“ area day after day after day, and not allowed to get out and exercise! Getting out and walking around and doing what I was used to doing—that was my dream! I’m trying to remember my origin, but I’m not sure of the story. I heard someone say that my owner told the shelter she found me, but I had spay surgery years ago, and lost track of my person’s true identity. Sometimes people even make up stories if they aren’t sure what to say. The shelter volunteers told me it didn’t really matter. I was a Campbell county resident, and I was entitled to get all the care they could give me. When I tested negative for FELVFIV, that was a good omen for me. They also discovered that I have several teeth missing, and wondered if I might have some other health issues. When the folks at Creek and meadow got a good look at me, they said I was already spayed, and my blood work looked good. That’s all it took for the FOAC volunteers to decide I needed more of a chance. Of course I’m grumpy when I am stuck in a small cage, but as soon as they let me out to walk around the lobby, I showed my true outgoing personality! And now that I am at a foster home, I am really shining. Someday I’m going to get a dentistry on my teeth, and then I’ll be ready to head to a new home.” Please start with an application to adopt found here: Friendsofcampbellcounty.org. We will make sure she is spayed, and we already have updated her vaccines. Please help Rosalee find a home she does not have to wake up in a cage every morning for the rest of her life!
