UPDATE: Cats, cats, cats...such independent characters, sometimes unpredictable and sneaky, and other times easy to read. Three-year-old SNICKERS appears to be both sneaky and easy to read: her foster mom says it’s easy to read that she is going to be sneaky! One of those ears falls back and the tail twitches just so, and then she is either grateful for the head scratch, or she slaps you and tells you to stop. She’s not as chunky and plump as she was when she first came to her foster mom’s home, and I think this is a good thing. She did not have the opportunity to live with other cats and was rather wicked sounding when she saw them in her home. She has learn to adapt! But we know she would still love being the only spoiled brat in her home. Interested? - - - Princess Snickers rose to new heights, literally, at her foster home today. Foster Mom came home from delivering cats to Petsmart, and found Snickers on top of the cat castle in the basement. What a surprise that was! A case of mistaken sexual identity was resolved this week. Her owner had signed her over as a neutered male, but the vet office assured us she is a spayed female. Once I apologized to her and explained that I really didn’t know differently until yesterday, she became a different cat! Snickers is glad to be a girl instead of a boy. She appreciates the same kind of attention she got when I thought she was a boy, but now her actions are attributed to female behavior rather than male. Her “slappy play” still needs to be monitored, but we are both happier. Snickers had never been around other cats before she came to this foster home, and it has taken her a few weeks to get used to the fact that she must share space. I think she’s done a remarkable job of handling that or deal. She still loves play time individually as do all cats. We would love to have Snickers go to a home where she can be the one and only or maybe one of two cats. She’s a big girl, but not obese, and she handles herself well.
