SUNSHINE was released from treatment at the vet office (thank you, Peaksview Animal Hospital!) today, and is safely in foster care where she can hang out with other bunnies and cats, and can get regular medication as she recovers from a horrendous case of ear mites! She is already chowing down on fresh fruits and vegetables, and has made friends with one of the resident cats. We are told that she is 1 to 2 years old, and in pretty good health considering what she’s been through. We did find out from someone who knows that her family moved away, and had released her into the back yard from being a house bunny. We don’t know how long she was on her own, but are just glad she is safe now! Once she has healed, she will be available for adoption, but we want to give her plenty of time to grow hair back on the back of her neck and make sure her new home is ready for appropriate care. Someone who has experience with rabbits is needed for this little lady.
